If I understand your post, the print queue monitor panel icon is sending a lpstat -o every 5 seconds thereby causing a lot of POST lines in cups/access_logs and a new socket to be generated (tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:51305 127.0.0.1:631). How can I stop or control this? Where is the print queue monitor panel icon located (it is not on my panel)? Seems to me to be dumb to be generating a new socket and log line every 5 seconds.
