Read that in conjunction with the provided logrotate file:
/etc/logrotate.d/cups.  So yes, grow without limit, but get rotated by
logrotate (and eventually deleted).

/etc/printcap is informational.

No.  So by default it doesn't (except for browsing).  These settings
are set by redhat-config-printer.

YMMV.  I'm not aware of anything that relies on keepalive.

If you have redhat-config-printer installed do it through that
interface, or the change will get overwritten next time the cups
initscript starts.

But also, no, that's not really correct: browsing refers to the
ability to detect remote shared queues.
