So in case you want to make sure you install the right kernel, rely on rpm -q --qf "%{arch}\n" kernel or: rpm -q --qf "%{name}-%{version}-%{release} is for %{arch}\n" kernel In that case you would get "athlon" for CPUs from the AMD Athlon and AMD Duron series.
