I don't think it is a good idea to tell people not to [top post, bottom post, middle post, any other kind of post.] I'd rather see what the poster has to say and not fuss about the chosen style of posting -- as long as they aren't flaming each other or using offensive language, I mean. You can rub someone the wrong way by instructing him or her on how to post your way; it is really a matter of personal style.
