Well, IMO ATi has the superior TV out and 2d quality. I personally
prefer NVidia's AF though because it looks good at *all* angles, and
ATi's AF algorithm completely breaks at certain angles. Or in another
words, ATi's only looks really good in FPS. NVidia's looks decent no
matter the application. I also like ATi's hardware better generally,
with the exception of the 9x00 series which for some reason they chose
to only have 96-bit precision instead of 128-bit precision like NVidia's
FX. I do like ATi's FSAA better as well though.

Now drivers, that's where it falls apart for me, ATi's OpenGL drivers
have always left much to be desired, Windows or Linux. Especially the
Linux drivers at the moment. NVidia's OpenGL drivers on the other hand
almost always work as I expect them to. To me NVidia definitely has the
upper hand in the Linux driver department at the moment as far as OpenGL
support goes. However, *both* ATi and NVidia do not support the Linux
drivers as well as the support their Windows ones. Both of them do not
support all of the things they do in their Windows drivers that they do
in their Linux drivers. (Certain OpenGL extensions, lack of a control
panel, etc...)

Just my worthless 2 cents,
