I've added the ide-scsi to grub and -scanbus recognizes the drive at 0,0,0, but it can't access it when it tries to burn. i also can not mount it. when i try to mount /dev/cdrom (which i have the sym link /dev/scd0 pointing to) it says: "wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom, or too many mounted file systems" my fstab line is: /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto, owner, kudzu,ro 0 0 eric -----Original Message----- From: Wolfgang Gill <wolfgang@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "'psyche-list@xxxxxxxxxx'" <psyche-list@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: RE: CDR Problems Date: Tue, 22 Apr 2003 12:52:47 +1000 Reply-To: psyche-list@xxxxxxxxxx So you have added the 'hdc=ide-scsi' to grub?? I ran a cdrecord -scanbus on my system and my CDR/W shows up on 1,0,0 and it's a RICOH MP9200. I use Xcdroast to burn CD's and it works ok. It's might also be worth checking the drives sym links. As I have had a few problems in the past with them. When I was trying to configure Xine correctly the sym links got stuffed up, and I couldn't burn CD's anymore. It's worth looking into. My CDRW is a Yamaha CRW1200EZ that is the primary cdrom. i have it set up as ide-scsi through scd0. When I do a cdrecord -scanbus it see it at 0,0,0 but when i try to write to it, it hangs up for a minute and then says "CD/DVD-recorder not ready" and the drive won't respond. I've tried everything that i could find on boards but i can't get it to work.Is there a known problem with any modules or with this drive? ------------------------------------------------- -- Psyche-list mailing list Psyche-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/psyche-list
