Sounds more like a network (or other) problem.
I push/pull the RH iso files (650+- MB) around all the time
on my RH8. Never had a problem. In fact, I was moving around
tar.gz files around the 1gig range on an old Pentium 75 running
RH6.2 with no problems also. It sat around for 334 days in a vacant
house back east (US) with no downtime, and constant traffic like that.
I gave it a good workout on occasion, but it held up like a champ.
Good thing too. I live in California now, and 2700 miles is a hell
of a ways to travel to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL. Because of that, I MUST
HAVE a reliable/dependable machine, so MicroSoft products are not
really an option for me. For most people a "hit and miss" system is
okay, so M$ is fine. It's all in what you need.
