That's really strange. The Canon Powershot S45 only hit the market in
November last year. (I thought it was out for at least 6 Months) And the new
libraries support it. Your camera may not be that popular, which may be the
reason it's not supported yet.

Sorry that it didn't fix your problem. As without the vendor and Product Id
info you will not be able to get it to work.

I got the newest gphoto2 and libgphoto2. It still does not recognize the
camera, which is not surprising, as it is not in the list of supported
cameras.
