Re: VMware on RedHat 8.0

I have had the same issues in the past with VMWare as well. I know that this
is something which has been debated in the forums on their site.

A guy by the name of Petr Vandrovec put together a series of patches for the
vmnet and vmmon modules. His ftp site is
ftp://platan.vc.cvut.cz/pub/vmware/. The latest patch version there is
vmware-any-any-update25.tar.gz. That will get your installation up and
going. I have installed it on my systems and have had some luck with it. I
have noticed that vmware will still hiccup every now and again though.

I just checked the ftp site and found that there is another patch file there
called vmware-rh-patch.tar.gz and the date looks like it is the most recent.
Maybe this is the one that should be used instead?

HTH,

Will
