It probably is; but, you shouldn't have to install an enormous
software subsystem on your server, for which you'd otherwise have no
use, just so you can extract some files for the purposes of diagnosing
problems with your server running a "supported" operating system.
At the very least, if Dell does not want to provide native utilities
for each operating system they support, they should provide disk
images of bootable floppies which do the work for you, so you don't
have to deal with the issue.
