Well, it may depend on how the connection was originally configured (some configuration programs seem to have their own idea of where to put stuff), but if you look at your /etc/ppp/options file, there should be an option in it called "connect", and its argument should be the chat script. The option may call the chat program directly, in which case the phone number may be listed there; or it may point to a shell script that calls chat, in which case you need to edit the file named as the argument to the script. - -- Derek D.
