The RPMS from mozilla.org already install in a different directory than the RH RPMS. The RPMS from both RH and Mozilla install in /usr/lib/mozilla-<version>, so there's no need to worry about collisions. Using the -U option to rpm will remove the older version, which was installed in a different directory anyway, so there should be no need to do this manually with rpm -e. I will note that while I'm pretty happy with the Xft support in mozilla 1.2.1, it is a bit more buggy than the non-Xft version. I do get periodic crashes with it, where I never did with the prior non-Xft releases (which, since they were earlier versions, may have nothing to do with the Xft support, though I think that's unlikely). - -- Derek D.
