Getting libdb.a to be recongnized

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I am trying to install kdeadmin from source on my machine with rpm support,
unfortunately RH8 does not have libdb.a on the system.

I have compiled db on my system, and now it resides in
/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/ with libdb.a in /usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/lib but
the configure script for kdeadmin can't find it.

I have tried adding libdb.a to ld.so.config, I have tried starting my
configure with "LDFLAGS="$LDFLAGS -L/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/lib"
CPPFLAGS="$CPPFLAGS -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/include" ./configure" on one
line.

I have not yet tried to symlink libdb.a into /lib.

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions or experiences?

On the side of the software box, in the 'System Requirements' section, it said
'Requires Windows 95 or better'. So I installed Linux and lived happily ever
after.
