I believe this is not a good idea.  Mixing code from gcc 3.2 and the old gcc 
2.96 is not supported for a reason (parameter passing differs) and can cause 
problems.

Why not use the 3c59x driver that comes from Red Hat?  I have a 3c905B 
(10b7:9055) and it works fine with the 3c59x driver.
