is squirrelmail unconfigured when installed?

I've been using squirrelmail for a long time on RH7.2 and 7.3, and was glad to
see it as a standard package in RH8.0. However, it installs over in
/usr/share/squirrelmail/(index.php), but no configuration changes seem to be
made to apache with the squirrelmail rpm. Is this the normal behavior? I've
always installed it under /var/www/html/squirrelmail, so perhaps there must be
a security-related reason for the change?

Do they expect us to use an apache alias/redirect or a filesystem symlink?

Any tips on the best-practice (and update-supported!) post-config steps for
squirrelmail would be appreciated. Thanks.
