Yes, the server is running, and I can map it as a drive letter (U:\ on my system), 
but to map it I need to explicitly type in "\\testbox" in the explorer's location bar to see it.
It doesn't show up with all the other Win workstations and samba servers in the net-hood.
nmblookup works fine:
[root@testbox root]# nmblookup testbox
querying testbox on 192.168.2.255
192.168.2.42 testbox<00>
[root@testbox root]#

I'm not quite sure how to test with smbclient...

Any other ideas or suggestions? I appreciate the help...
