try stopping nscd (service nscd stop).
Worked for me in limbo, null, and psyche.
It's in bugzilla, but hasn't been updated yet.

 From the command line, use 'nslookup <host>' or 'dig <host>'
to check the nameserver lookups. If those return IP
addressed for the hosts, the nameserver is correct,
but something is stopping it from being used, probably nscd.
