According to the cdrecord author, this is a harmless firmware bug. I
had asked him because I wanted to be sure before I've submitted my
CD-RW into the community knowledge list of supported burners.

This is due to run-out sectors. Somehow you should be able to avoid
them with dd or readcd. Maybe you find out how many sectors to omit.
