I haven't actually tried any movies yet, I had enabled > ide-scsi as I've heard it's better when ripping audio w/ cdparanoia. ummmmm ... i'm pretty sure that, even though i had hdb=ide-scsi automatically added to grub.conf, that drive did *not* have DMA enabled until i did it explicitly. can anyone answer this definitively? rday
