I bought a Radeon 9000 Pro (128M) for $200 last night, and installed it this morning. On booting, the RH9 box recognized the card (tho it thinks it is a Radeon 9000, not the Pro. Not sure what the difference is.) My old problem has gone away (since it caused by was a damaged card), but my new problem is that I get a little horizontal streaking sometimes (eg web pages with solid black background). This doesn't show up on a screen capture. Naively, I would guess that the refresh rates I enclose the new XF86config file. I ran redhat-config-xfree86 but then later I adjusted the monitor vertical refresh rate to the officially claimed specs (50-75Hz), rather than the probed values (50-85Hz) to see if that made a difference; it didn't. Any ideas anyone? This is a RH9 box, running XFree86-4.3.0-8 from rawhide. The monitor is a Viewsonic LCD VP201m running at 1600x1200 and is connected to the digital output of the video card.
