Hi,
I have expirienced the many problems with DS II S220. I have solves the issues setting VESA as the driver
for the graphic card and setting horizontal and vertical
values for monitor. I made some practices with the "rendition" driver but I was not able to set the proper values for the monitor. The picture was proper but started from the middle of the screen (mirror effect). I have enclosed here the critical part of the XFree86Config Section "Monitor" Identifier "Mag" ModelName "Unknown monitor" HorizSync 30-60 VertRefresh 50-75.0 # --- 1024x768 --- # 1024x768 @ 60 Hz, 48.4 kHz hsync # Modeline "1024x768" 65 1024 1032 1176 1344 # 768 771 777 806 -hsync -vsync # 1024x768 @ 70 Hz, 56.5 kHz hsync # ModeLine "1024x768" 80.0 1024 1048 1184 1328 768 771 777 806 # 1024x768 @ 75 Hz, 60 kHz hsync # ModeLine "1024x768" 85.32 1024 1072 1312 1408 768 770 782 808 EndSection Section "Device" included unless there is more than one video device # intalled. # BusID "PCI:0:10:0" # VideoRam 256 # Clocks 25.2 28.3 Identifier "Standard VGA" Driver "vga" VendorName "Unknown" BoardName "Unknown" EndSection Section "Device" Section "Device" #Option "sw_cursor" # Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate Identifier "Diamond" Driver "vesa" #"rendition" BoardName "Rendition Verite 2x00" VideoRam 4096 EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen 1" Device "Diamond" Monitor "Mag" DefaultDepth 16 SubSection "Display" Depth 8 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 16 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection EndSection Of cource another modes can be included here, but 24 doesn't work with VESA. I hop it will help someone (I spent few days to find the solution). Krzysztof
