You shouldn't install rawhide XFree86 as-is into RHL 7.x. It is not designed to work with 7.x. If you want to use it, you should instead use the Limbo 2 beta, or wait until the final release of the next version of RHL. I presume you are using RHL 7.2 or 7.1. You need to have at least the latest RHL 7.3 kernel update plus it's dependancies installed in order to use XFree86 4.2.0.
