OpenGL and matrox g400

This is one of those curious questions, not a big deal.

We're running some tests across our wireless broadband product here to
measure loads, latency, etc.

What better choice than a game? So I put up a tribes2 server and loaded
up some clients.

Why does Tribes2 run dog slow on a G400? I did the obligatory google
search and it seems like people are definetly running it and I didn't
see a lot about slow framerates. Does the G400 suck that bad or I am
missing a tweak somewhere? I'm basically running at minimalist settings,
640x480, low fills, etc.
