Hi I'm having problems with a laptop running 7.1 - it's set to boot into runlevel 5 which it does sucessfully. However I am unable to login to the system as a standard user - root is fine. This therefore made me think that it was a permissions problem, but everything seems fine. When you login as a normal user, gdm dissappears and returns about 30s later, I can't find any messages in the logs. I know I've read about this before but I can't remember where I read it. Anyone got any ideas of things to check? Cheers Adam
