Ahhhh, I just looked at your error messages more closely. Do I understand
correctly, that this has two DVD drives, and one's read-only? Has the system
bounced since the last time you successfully wrote to it?

If the answer's yes to both, then it may be that the system swapped them for
some reason, and you're trying to write to the readonly drive.
