I think 5 would have a better chance of having the driver for the
perc5i, it just comes down to being newer, and probably less hassle.
For example a program like mediawiki required php5, so if you have rhel4
your out of luck. Unless you want to upgrade all over again later, it
could save you the wasted time.

I think rhel 5, 64 bit would be the best for you, hope it helps..
