Hello,

Well I am having only /etc/ssh/ssh_config file(not on per user basis) to
which i added the following lines:

        PreferredAuthentications
hostbased,publickey,password,keyboard-interactive
         Protocol 1

 But no luck.

Now i am trying it with the ~/.ssh/config file, with the same two lines as
above.

No, it is giving me the same result:

debug1: Trying rhosts authentication.
debug1: RSA authentication using agent refused.
debug1: Doing challenge response authentication.
debug1: No challenge.
debug1: Doing password authentication.

BTW, the permission of the related files are as follow:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 27 Jan 1 18:50 shosts.equiv
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1333 Jan 3 01:18 ssh_config

-rw------- 1 sachin sachin 89 Jan 3 01:23 ~sachin/.ssh/config

Any ideas????

Regds,
Sachin

PS: Gavin, tnx a lot for a lovely link...
