We use storix (www.storix.com <http://www.storix.com>). With storix you can create a bootable CD that will read what they call system backups. These backups can be on tape. The result is similar to make_recovery on HP-UX, but you boot into the GUI on the CD and then restore from there. We use the client/server edition so we also have centralized administration.
