ok ed...

i'm curious... can you walk me through the basic steps to take a vanilla
system, with no floppy/cd drive and get it to load up via ethernet/internet,
from a remote server??

i have a system..
i turn it on...
and then what do i do..??

Yup - it's known as a PXE boot.  The DHCP server transfers control to
another server (or it can be the DHCP server itself) which does a
kickstart-based install.
