Hey take a look at http://www.raxnet.net/products/cacti/ I have only worked with Linux about a year or so part time and I found this to be very easy to install and configure (all web based) it uses the RRD tool. Very nice graphs and great support. It also has a plug in you can get on the forum that allows you to zoom in to 5 min. incremental! Very NICE! -----Original Message----- From: redhat-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:redhat-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ed Wilts Sent: Sunday, May 09, 2004 8:30 AM To: General Red Hat Linux discussion list Subject: Re: Re:Bandwidth Monitor On Sun, May 09, 2004 at 01:01:32PM +0530, Harry wrote: > have done to get this working? It's /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg that needs to be modified and it's this configuration file that needs to be updated with the mrtg_total specific entries. I've included my first interface in mrtg.cfg below. Note that I specified the directory that the graphs went into so they end up in /var/www/mrtg/graphs/mrtg_total # Created by # /usr/bin/cfgmaker --global 'WorkDir: /var/www/mrtg/graphs' --global 'Options[_]: growright, bits' public@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ### Global Config Options # for UNIX # WorkDir: /home/http/mrtg # or for NT # WorkDir: c:\mrtgdata ### Global Defaults # to get bits instead of bytes and graphs growing to the right # Options[_]: growright, bits WorkDir: /var/www/mrtg/graphs Options[_]: growright, bits ###################################################################### # System: BEFSR81 # Description: BEFSR81 # Contact: ewilts@xxxxxxxxxx # Location: - ###################################################################### ### Interface 1 >> Descr: 'K32_MAC' | Name: '' | Ip: '192.168.0.1' | Eth: '00-04-5a-ff-ca-55' ### Target[firewall.ewilts.org_1]: 1:public@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx: SetEnv[firewall.ewilts.org_1]: MRTG_INT_IP="192.168.0.1" MRTG_INT_DESCR="K32_MAC" #-#Total[firewall.ewilts.org_1]: Traffic Totals for Internal Interface #-#Total-Unit[firewall.ewilts.org_1]: M #-#Total-Ratio[firewall.ewilts.org_1]:yes #-#Total-Directory[firewall.ewilts.org_1]: mrtg_total MaxBytes[firewall.ewilts.org_1]: 1250000 Title[firewall.ewilts.org_1]: Traffic Analysis for 1 -- Internal PageTop[firewall.ewilts.org_1]: <H1>Traffic Analysis for 1 -- Internal</H1> <TABLE> <TR><TD>System:</TD> <TD>BEFSR81</TD></TR> <TR><TD>Maintainer:</TD> <TD>ewilts@xxxxxxxxxx</TD></TR> <TR><TD>Description:</TD><TD>K32_MAC </TD></TR> <TR><TD>ifType:</TD> <TD>ethernetCsmacd (6)</TD></TR> <TR><TD>ifName:</TD> <TD>Internal</TD></TR> <TR><TD>Max Speed:</TD> <TD>10.0 Mbits/s</TD></TR> <TR><TD>Ip:</TD> <TD>192.168.0.1 (firewall.ewilts.org)</TD></TR> </TABLE> -- Ed Wilts, Mounds View, MN, USA mailto:ewilts@xxxxxxxxxx Member #1, Red Hat Community Ambassador Program -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
