Please keep in mind that this doc is pretty much a first draft, and
needs 
improvement. Still, it should get you to understanding the concepts and
the 
terminology. From there, I suggest you go to the Linux Documentation
Project:

http://www.tldp.org

and read the DNS-HOWTO located there. That should get you up and
running.

Feel free to post additional questions to the list as well.

Thanks so much, Rodolfo. I had kept the reference to your excellent site
http://www.simpaticus.com/linux, of course, and I had planned to go back
to it if I couldn't get everything working first by doing what Ben had
suggested. I guess I'll just have to go back and read everything
carefully and learn by trial and error--it won't be the first time.
