May I ask you that how can I use IM to talk to MS IM users on RH9?
To which IM network do you want to connect? MSN, Yahoo, ICQ...?
As a first recommendation, get the latest version of GAIM and try that. Use the command "up2date gaim" if you have that configured, and it will automatically download and install the program, resolving any dependencies on its own. If not, go to http://gaim.sourceforge.net for the project's website. Get the RPM package for the latest version (one was released just a couple of days ago), and install that package with "rpm -Uvh gaim-0.7-xx-x-x.i386.rpm".
