If you know your own user account and the root account (both should have
their passwords changed on a frequent basis) then you do not have to
remember any other account password.  If you can get to root, then you can
su - to any other account on the box without the password.  That cuts the
number that you have to remember down to a manageable two for your Linux
box(es).

If you know roots password, then you know everything!  ;)  Just kidding.
