(and it's showing in "ps") > Yes, it is running, a 'pgrep' and seperate 'ps' shows it as running. > sendmail is shutdown? > Yes, it has never been actually configured, installed Postfix almost immediately. > have you tried sending mail manually? > Yes, there are no problems with this at all, local to local addresses, remote to local, local to remote, all check out fine, it's all processed as it should be. Hence my confusion about why it's not apparently working. > what does the output from the "mailq" command show? (probably nothing > if your maillog doesn't show anything). It tells me the mail queue is empty. It is as if logwatch isn't even TRYING to send mail out at all, at least if it tried (and failed) I'd have something in the maillog, but I don't. You say that postfix may not be configured/etc... correctly. Is there anything obvious here or do you need a copy of my postfix config file (main.cf) because to be honest, I can't see what the problem is with it, but my own experience with postfix is limited. Any good sites for configuring postfix, perhaps an example config file that is KNOWN to work with LogWatch (so I can possibly have a clue of where I went wrong) ? Mr. K.
