Thanks.
I did mention that I had seen that vfat partitions could not be changed
but scanning back through the list that message was one that was lost
the other day.
I'm off the man mount.
But if an expert reads this before I post the result feel free to walk
me through mounting a vfat for users as well as root.
It's just me anyway so all will be fine.
