This works for me:

 1) Edit the file /etc/xinetd.d/telnet and change the line:

	disable         = yes

	for

	disable         = no

 2) Edit the file /etc/securetty and add this:

	pts/0
	pts/1
	pts/2

 3) Restart the xinetd.d:

	/etc/init.d/xinetd restart

I expect that it can help you.

Best regards

Hi all,

I am having an issue telnetting to my RH 9 server.
It has the right IP, pingable and doing a chkconfig shows the telnet is on.
Running a ntsysv shows me the same.

Doing an rpm -qa shows me one telnet package installed.
Should a telnet server be installed as well?

thanks
