Kernel Differences.(Causing Memory Problem???)

Hi guys,

We  have set up two  sytems

1) One that we have installed in my company the RedHat Developer Edition 2.1  900MB Memory , 2GB Ram with kernel version  2.4.9-e.5smp
2) One that we have installed to the client the RedHat Enterprise Edition 2.1  2GB Memory , 10GB HD with kernel version  2.4.9-e.3smp

I have Installed JBoss at the two systems 3.2.1 and I run my applicaton  ,

At first system even that i have not too much memory the application is working ok, no (memory, thread) problem we check
it with JProfiler.

At the second which is better  one than ours,  the application is not running ok, at the first hour it allocates 900MB memory,
and after 2 days the jboss doesn't respond to request , we must shutdown the server and start up again.

The only difference that i have seen beetwen the two linux server is the kernel version.

Does the  2.4.9-e.5smp kernel has a lot of difference with 2.4.9-e.3smp and causing memory problem to us.
Do we need any patch for it .

Does anyone has similiar expirience.

Thanks in advance.
