I have a system that is built on two small hards drives using logical volume manager. I'm now running out of space and need to move it to a new drive. I don't really want to install new, move over the data, and reset all the rights like I did when I upgraded from 7.3 to 8.0. It worked well, but took a while. Will this work? -Take the new drive and stick it in another system, build RH8.0. -Stick it in the current system as another drive and mount the filesystem. -Copy everything from the old drive(s) to this new drive. -Put the new drive in as the master and bring up the system on the new drive, hopefully exactly the way it was, but with more space. If it will work, how would I copy the whole thing to the new drive including permissions? If not, are there other suggestions? I've looked a little at dump and another utility called partimage, but I've never used them before so I'm not sure if I should try it now.
