Could you provide mdadm --detail-platform output?

Probably Sata controller is in the AHCI mode. Please change it into RAID mode 
in UEFI. 
Mdadm refuses to assemble IMSM raid if it cannot load EFi properties.

If you already have RAID mode, please try mdadm with this fix:
 4ec389e3f0c ("Enable probe_roms to scan more than 6 roms.")
