I'm just thinking back to my first disk drive. I paid £200 for a WD
bigfoot. It was a 5400rpm 5 1/4 drive - marketed as "cheapest cost per
MB available". And how big was it? Just *six* *giga*bytes, I think my
current pair of 3TB drives cost me less than that - 3 orders of
magnitude more storage, for less money.
