mkraid: 10 Hors??? possible?

Hi all.

   I just set up a disk w/ 2 raid1 devices md0, md1 + reiserfs + 2.4.17
   kernel (debain potato)

   md0 is OK
md1 was building the array (before creating a filesystem) when I had a
fault in the tension, at that time it said it needed 1.5 Hours to
   complete (1 had already passed).

After the (forced...) reboot, I had to recontruct (automagically) md0
(OK) and had to create again md1 (37 GB!). This time instead of 2.5 H it
   asks for 10 Hours!!!!

   Is it reasonable?

Moreover, I created the filesystem while in recontruction (after 8
hours), but I cannot mount it, it says it cannot find superblock... or
   too many filesystems mounted!

Thanks in advance for your help. The box is for a customer, I wouldn't
   give away a buggy system...

   cheers
   sandro
