Adding to my confusion, Why is the pavucontrol the same icon as the vucontrol applet in Fedora10? Also why is the pavucontrol applet located in the Applications/Sound & Video menu when the vucontrol applet is accessed from System/Preferences/Hardware? Is this a Gnome/KDE issue or a Fedora 10 issue? I'm upgrading to Fedora 11 now to get libtool-2.x working among other things. I hope it has been made less confusing in 11. I have come to understand that pavucontrol is the best way to control the PA system settings but it is not located in the System menu so there is a conflict with vucontrol. I believe this affects many users of Gnome/Fedora and has added to the general negativity on the web towards PA. Cheers. Patrick Shirkey Boost Hardware Ltd
