G722 is free, patents (from late 1980s) have expired.  G711 also has no license
costs.  Both G711 and G722 use 64 kbit/sec RTP packet data rate (80 byte payload
every 10 msec).  Total ethernet bandwidth is around 95 kbit/sec.

G711 has an Appendix I, which can be used for packet loss concealment.
