Coding a mailing list

I want to be able to send emails to all my members. The total should not 
exceed 200.

They will sent from my web host.

My first review says the php mail function is not good for large numbers 
of emails and I should look at PEAR.

PEAR would be new to me, so I am asking for any other suggestions.
