Looks pretty good, but why not use in place editing with a little bit of
AJAX rather than making the user click twice?

I would rather turn editing on, then click to edit in place.

Ajax would indeed be a step closer to what I want -- it's in the plans.

At present the user clicks Edit Mode On (first click) and then picks which segment he wants to edit (second click).

Are you saying that just the act of clicking a segment should be sufficient to put the segment in edit mode without clicking submit/save? If so, that's not a bad idea, but I'll have to think about how I can do that.

The idea here is to provide the "client" (not a crazed programmer) with a way to edit their web site and make it as easy as a word processing application using templates.
