Since we are talking CSS and Tables one of the first things I do when I come across a site that is blatantly using CSS is to resize the text. I find that in about 80% of the cases the pages are not designed to handle resizing the text, which is a big pain. This is why I tend to stay with tables in a lot of my deisgn. I have done a few CSS things here and there but it takes too long to do it properly. That is one thing I notice is convieniently left out of the tutorials. If they don't know about ctl+ why would I waste time reading their tutorial? When I come across a tutorial on replacing tables with CSS I look to see if it mentions the user resizing the text. If I cannot find that I close the tab. What is the surefire way to have divs and spans that will resize along with the text?
