No. Manuel will be along soon to tell you to look at the SMTP classes on phpclasses.org, though. ;) There are classes there that do this, so try them.


Also in my php.ini file the parameter sendmail_path is empty. Is this a
required parameter for sending mail?

I'm using Windows/IIS.

No, since you're not using sendmail on Windows. What are your SMTP settings in php.ini?
