Sorry if you recieved this twice. Head's wreaked today, and I keep making mistakes, such as posting to a person instead of to the list. If you're using apache2 then you need to add something along the lines of --with-apxs to your ./configure line. With apache1.3 it was --with-apxs=/path/to/apxs. I'm not sure what whether it's still --with-apxs, or --with-apxs2, but either way you'll probably be looking for the path to apxs2. Just for your information apxs is the APache eXtension System. If you want to use locate, on recently created files, then you should schedule locate to run updatedb more often. your locate is only as recent as your last updatedb.
