Roy,
I’ll arrive to Reykjavik in the morning. Possible time of getting a car would be 10 AM. Then I may hang around in the center of town with my phoe (ready for either regular or skype call).
Right now I know following expenses: rented car (insurances included) total 820 € Fuel for about 1700 - 2000 km total 250 € Acommodation approximately per capita 200-300 € Food (lots of it self-cooked) per capita 200 € Ferry ticket to Breidavik (oneway shortcut) for a car and 2 passangers 130 € It makes per capita (if 2 people) about 1000 €, but it depends on circumstances. Sleeping in the car or in tent may help, also dry food bought back at home. Per 3 persons it would be about 800 €
Maybe I’ve made mistakes, but it should be the minimum to be considered.
Regards, Peeter

I could post this to my club website in Cary, NC but I'm sure
the first question will be where are you going to start from or meet to begin
journey? There are a few younger members to the club but most are older
folk. Also a list of the expenses to share might be helpful.

Hi!
I tried to write some time ago, but the server turned my msg down. Ok,
once more.
I am planning a budget photographic trip to Iceland from Aug 24 till Sept
08.
Rental car (2WD - no F-roads), sleeping bag acommodation, meals partly on
the road or in location.
I have published this here and there to find a travel mate or two, just
to share the costs and expenses, but practically no replies. It may be because
of my own cumbersome personality (??) or people go out mainly for
comfortablilty (??).
I decided to try this forum as well, although I haven’t contributed
lately. But I promise - ifever I return from Iceland, I will.
So this is the question: does anyone know of anyone who would be happy to
participate in a round trip on Iceland in august/september this year? I’d like
to be out early and late to catch extraordinary light, although middays won’t
be excluded either.
Kindest regards to everybody!
