Thank you for the comment. There is a series of these body abstractions, not including this one, on a page of my web site, at:


The concept is to present elements of the body as abstract forms. These are “straight” images in that they are acquired as seen but in digital raw, converted to B&W, and processed using only levels controls. Each form is not retouched, although a scenic element or light sometimes winds up in the frame, which I will remove. Many observers of prints of these photographs have difficulty recognizing the body element, which is fine for me. I will get asked what they are which I do not reveal.

Very opinionated comments FYI and FWIW:

Mark Harris - Hair Abstraction - I think this is a good idea and probably would work better as a series. As is it leaves one wanting to see a bit more. But maybe that is the point. Too little to "hang on" by itself though IMO.
